Bubbling Cauldron Cocktail
______________________________________...

1/2 lemon
2 ripe Bartlett pears
1 tablespoon dried currants
1/2 cup pear nectar
1 (750 milliliter) bottle Champagne or other sparkling white wine

PREPARATIONS:

2- Fill a medium bowl with water and squeeze the lemon half into it. Peel the pears and add them to the lemon water. Using a small melon baller, scoop out balls from each pear; return the balls to the lemon water. You will need 16 pear balls. Using a toothpick, make a small hole in each pear ball and tuck a currant into each hole.

1- Pour 1 tablespoon of the pear nectar into each of 8 Champagne flutes. Fill the flutes with Champagne. Spear 2 pear "eyeballs" on a toothpick, put in each flute and serve at once.

PS: Serves only 8.

Ghosts in the Graveyard ( FAV )

15 OREO Chocolate Sandwich Cookies , crushed
3 cups cold milk
2 pkg. (4 serving size) JELL-O Chocolate Flavor Instant Pudding & Pie Filling
1 (12 ounce) tub COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed, divided
3 CAMEO Creme Sandwich Cookies
Decorating gel
5 candy pumpkins
10 pieces candy corn

PREPARATIONS:

Pour milk into large bowl. Add dry pudding mixes. Beat with wire whisk 2 min. or until well blended. Let stand 5 min. Gently stir in 3 cups of the whipped topping and half of the cookie crumbs. Spread evenly into 13x9-inch baking dish; sprinkle with the remaining cookie crumbs.

Refrigerate at least 1 hour. Meanwhile, decorate creme sandwich cookies with decorating gel to resemble tombstones. Set aside until ready to use.

Insert decorated cookies into top of dessert just before serving. Add candies. Drop large spoonfuls of the remaining whipped topping onto dessert to resemble ghosts. Cover and store leftover dessert in refrigerator.

PS: Serves around 18.
PSS: If you want to make grass on the "graveyard", use snipped pieces of green chewy fruit snack rolls. =)

Instead of making something weird - why not buy Halloween containers to put stuff in, like, Stuff a bunch of candy in a pumpkin treat carrier. Find a Caldrin and put guacamole in it - pair it with guacamole chips in a witches hat (staple it to the table or something). Stuff like that is cool, and you can avoid people not eating your stuff because it is too weird.

It is all in the labeling. I threw a H-ween party once and served bat chips (Doritos), frog dip (guacamole), devilled chicken and ham in puffs, devil's food cake, deviled meatballs, etc. If the name isn't disgusting enough, then make one up.
