Answers: how do you make the white sauce that you put in the tuna and pasta bake help please? is it called bechamel or something like that?
Bechamel is a white cream sauce that is used in many dishes. It acts as a base for many sauces. Originating in France, bechamel is popular in many types of cuisines.
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup maragrine or butter
6 tablespoons flour
4 cups warm milk
PREPARATION:
In a large, deep, saute pan, melt butter over a medium high heat. Add flour, a little bit at a time. Stir constantly to avoid lumping. Stirring quickly and vigorously is very important!
Once flour and butter is a creamy, smooth mixture, slowly add warm milk.
Instead of this I use Campbells cream of mushroom soup

i recommend the one in the brown packet it used to be in a red one .... u cook the pasta on the hob and then put the tuna in then u put the sauce in then put cheese and onion crisps on it then cheese i make it all the time its gorgeous
a simple easy way i use is 2 tablespoons of flour,2 tablespoons margarine,milk:
add the margarine to the pan,when melted,take off stove and add flour,whisking till pasty,then add milk to your liking,tastes yummy and is easy to do,you can add grated cheese too.
Tuna Noodle Casserole
1/2 loaf day-old crusty bread or 2 crusty day-old rolls
1 to 1 1/4 pounds tuna steaks, 1-inch thick -- 2 big steaks
1 cup white wine
Water
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon peppercorns
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil -- 1 turn of the pan
4 tablespoons butter, divided
2 large shallots, chopped
16 small button mushrooms, thinly sliced
Salt and pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons ground thyme or poultry seasoning
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups chicken stock
1/2 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
1 cup baby frozen peas
1 pound extra-wide egg noodles, cooked to al dente or 12 ounces, 1 box, egg fettuccini
Chopped fresh parsley leaves, to garnish
Place bread in warm oven, 250 degrees F, to dry and toast, 20 minutes.
Place tuna in a skillet and add wine, then water -- just enough to cover fish. Add bay leaf and peppercorns. Bring liquids to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer and cover skillet. Poach fish for 12 minutes.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add oil, 1 turn of the pan, and 2 tablespoons butter--reserve remaining 2 tablespoons butter. Add shallots and mushrooms and season with salt and pepper. Saute gently for 5 minutes. Sprinkle in ground thyme or poultry seasoning and flour and cook flour 1 minute, stirring with whisk. Whisk in stock, then cream. Adjust seasonings. Add peas.
Remove cooked, poached tuna to a bowl and flake fish with a fork.
Add cooked noodles and tuna to sauce. Remove sauce from heat and transfer mixture to a casserole or serving dish.
Use the widest cutting edge on a box grater to grate the bread into large crumbs. Melt remaining 2 tablespoons butter in a small cup in microwave and pour melted butter over bread, Scatter buttery bread crumbs and parsley over the top of the casserole. Serve immediately.
i also used cannned or foil pouch tuna and it saves times and tastes just as good! this dish is always very popular with my family and friends!
cheat buy a jar of white sauce, mix in, cover the dish with smash potato with grated cheese in promise you will love it
Tuna Pasta Bake

Cooking time 10 to 30 mins
Ingredients
400g/14oz tinned tuna, drained
2 onions, peeled and chopped
400g/14oz pasta, cooked
80g/3oz grated cheddar cheese
450g/1lb tinned chopped tomatoes
1 clove garlic, peeled and crushed
1 tsp dried mixed herbs
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 200C/400F/Gas 6.
2. Mix all the ingredients together, except the cheese, and place in a heatproof dish.
3. Sprinkle the cheese on top and place in the oven for 20 minutes or until piping hot and the cheese has melted.
