1 can of stewed tomatoes
A few leaves of parsley, chopped
1/2 an onion - white or red, finely chopped
1 tbsp. of bar-b-que sauce

Season the ground beef with pepper, garlic powder and paprika, then brown in skillet. Just before it is done, strain the grease. Add the onions...turn down your heat to low and allow to simmer a bit, about 5 minutes. Add the barbque sauce, stir and then add the about half a can of the stewed tomatoes. Mix well and allow to simmer covered for about 5 minutes. Top with the chopped parsley.

Brown some hamburger buns and then enjoy your sloppy joes. YUM!

I use ketchup, mustard, and mild salsa...taste just like the sloppy joe sauce you would buy..my family can't tell the difference

Honestly, I have done lotsa "homemade" Sloppy Joe sauces......and the best sauce (and my entire family and bunches of friends think so too) is a brand I buy in the store. It's in a glass jar - and it's called "Not-so-Sloppy-Joe-Mix". It's the best, IMHO.

I make my sloppy joes with a 1 lb of cooked turkey hamburger, and i add 1 tsp thyme and rosemary and salt and pepper to it, and at that point u can put it in the crock pot to cook with 1 can of campbells, chicken gumbo soup and maybe 1/4 can of water and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high 2-4 hours ... it will be delicious...U can also use this recipe with hamburger if u want it is just our ground turkey is so cheap i buy that and my family doesnt know how healthy it is...
