Crockpot meatballs?!

Question: I bought a bag of frozen meatballs from Costco and want to take them to our office potluck on Wednesday, but I don't know how to make them in a crockpot. I looked online and some recipes said to mix a jar of grape jelly and a jar of chili sauce (what is this?) together with the meatballs and to just let them cook in the crockpot for hours. If this is the right recipe, what is chili sauce? If you have a different or more specific recipe that would be great.

Thanks so much!

The chili sauce is next to the ketchup at your local grocery store. I've made this recipe and got rave reviews. You can also use your favorite barbecue sauce as well. Just poor over meatballs and heat to desired temperature. I recommend Hickory-Honey Smoked BBQ sauce.

That makes a sweet/sour glaze which is surprisingly tasty. If you want to go more traditional, just get a good jar of spaghetti sauce or make your own marinara. (You can find chili sauce at your local grocer's)

Grape jelly and plain yellow mustard mixed together make a great sauce for meatballs (I know it sounds gross, but trust me it's delicious and so easy/cheap) I make it for all the pitch-ins at work, and it's always a big hit! I suppose chili sauce would work just as well (chili sauce is a red sauce kinda like coctail sauce). It makes a delicious brown sauce that is a kinda sweet/sour BBQ sauce......also tastes good with coctail weiners.

I think you have got the chili sauce question answered. Just a bottle of Heinz near the ketchup. While that is tasty, a bottle of sweet baby ray's or other bbq sauce is good too. Our family likes a big can of kraut, a jar of whole cranberries, a half cup of ketchup and 1/4 cup of brown sugar. Mix that up and dump it over. Sounds weird but it is delicious. Good luck.

Here's a different way to cook your meatballs.

I start with a jar of spaghetti sauce and and add mushrooms, green pepper and garlic. Italian seasoning. Add meatballs bring to a boil. Cook until the meatballs are warm. Pour into a Crock pot and let cook on low all night. I use this same recipe to make a meatball sub sandwiches with Parmesan cheese.

yes i make my frozen swedish meatballs with 2 jars of beef gravy with mushrooms in them and i add salt and pepper and let them cook away for 6-8 hours on low and stir maybe every 3 hours if u can if not thats ok too... u can buy beef gravy with out mushrooms but we like the flavor, also add 1/4 tsp of ground nutmeg and 1 tsp or thyme and rosemary to it and it will be full of flavor... If u can get the homestyle beef gravy and it is scrumptous...

These are delicious.

Yummy Meatballs

Frozen Meatballs
jar of apricot preserves
envelope of lipton onion soup
bottle of catalina or french dressing (i prefer catalina)
Mix all the ingredients together and add to meatballs.
Bake for 30-40 minutes at 350 degrees
Or on low in a crockpot for 3-4 hours.
