Chow mein noodles? For stir fry?!?!


Question: Can you use cooked chow mein noodles as a subsitute for rice or pasta when you make stir fry? Or will it taste weird?

I put the stir fry on top of the chow mein noodles before serving. It tastes really good and is a great alternative to rice and pasta.

I think it would taste great. An interesting combination.

Not if you're talking about those dry crunchy ones. It will disintegrate within a few minutes of starting your stir fry. You will have a mush.

Certainly you can, infact I only use those for stir fries in our house stir fry just isn't stiry fry without the noodles and they don't turn to mush! I've been using them for the past 10 yrs of cooking!
