How long will home made soup store in my fridge for?!

Question: We don't have a freezer.

Answers: We don't have a freezer.

you can top it with olive oil to keep it fresher. there was an article on the news tonight about peole throwing away food that is perfectly ok, just because its a couple of days old. i would say about a week

if it contains cream about 2 days. otherwise about week i should think.

just two to three days. Don't heat up more than once though. divide in half, heat one day 2 and other day 3

you can store it forever ! , however I don't think it will keep for over a week in the fridge

What kind of soup?

The general rule is foods containing potentially hazardous foods - meat, dairy, eggs, etc - can be safely refrigerated up to 5 days. If you know are going to keep the food past that time, then it should be frozen.

While food may be perfectly safe past the 5 day window, food does not get better or safer with age - only men do that! And since there are currently no in-home test that can be performed to assure safety of a food, research indicates that most properly held potentially-hazardous foods will remain safe for 5 days.

My mom home made soup always stored for at least 5 -7 days. But, the leftovers she usually froze it and used it at will whenever she wanted some. I normally store my soup for about 5 days. It gets better each day the seasoning sets in it.

If there is nae cabbage in it, ye can probably gie it at least five days!!! Anything over that and ye can expect a wee dodgy tummy!!!! Guid luck!!!!

a week

About a week as long as it is properly covered.

What kind of soup is it??? I love homemade soup at this time of year!!

as long as it was quickly cooled and refrigerated, and contains no meat three days, make sure it bils when you reheat it

Soups are better the day after cooking and even a couple of days after that. If it is stew or a soup that is not cream based, then freeze it in portions. Most soups freeze beautifully.

Same Day or it become a 'sell by' and fit for the bin !

2 days max.......you get my star for fresh.

No freezer either....... Good for you fresh is best ....

Stuff the freezer.......xxxxxxxxx

Two to three days. But its homemade soup so lets face it - it'll be scoffed within that time!

Yummy! Save some for me!
