What is your favorite recipe of all time?!


Question: I just discovered this incredible Sloppy Joe recipe that blew my mind for dinner last night.

1 pound lean ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
1/3 cup chopped celery stalk
1/3 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/3 cup ketchup
1/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon red pepper sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
6 hamburger buns, split and toasted

1. Cook beef and onion in skillet over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain. Stir in remaining ingredients.
2. Cover and cook over low heat 10 to 15 minutes or just until vegis are tender. Fill buns.

Well I tried this recipe for the first time last week and it is different, nice for a change in flavors.

Bombay Pork Skillet

4 boneless pork chops, cut into 3/4-inch cubes
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground cardamom
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1 teaspoon ground mace
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 large onions, chopped
3 cloves garlic, crushed
3/4 cup beef broth
3 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 cup plain yogurt
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 cup chopped parsley
Hot cooked rice for accompaniment
Chopped cashews for garnish
Chopped fresh cilantro for garnish
Put cumin, cardamom, cinnamon, coriander, mace, pepper and salt in large plastic bag; shake to blend. Add pork pieces, shake gently to coat pork.
Heat oil over medium-high heat in large skillet; cook and stir onions and garlic until tender. Add pork, cook and stir for 2 to 3 minutes or until browned.
Stir in broth, honey and lemon juice, bring to a boil; reduce hat, cover and simmer 10 minutes or until pork is tender.
In small bowl stir together yogurt and flour; stir into skillet with parsley. Cook and stir over medium heat, until mixture thickens.
Spoon pork mixture over hot cooked rice, garnish with chopped cashews and chopped fresh cilantro.

Tres leches flan yummmmmmm

1/2 cup of sugar
1 package of cream cheese soft at room temp
2 large egg set room temp
2 egg yolk at room temp
1 (14oz) can of condensed milk
1 (12oz) can of evaporated milk
1 1/2 cups of milk
1tsp. vanilla extract
hot water 170 to 175 degrees f

cook sugar in saucepan over medium heat string often til its melted and medium brown in color quickly pour in a 9 inch round cake pan with 2 inch sides, evenly coat pan ans seal edges

beat cream cheese at medium speed with an electric mixer in a large bowl i min, reduce speed and add ingredients in other and bet for 2 min mixture will may be lumpy, pour milk over sugar place pan in a roasting pan add hot water halfway upsides of cake pan

Bake at 325 for 1 hour or until edges are set the middle will not be set, remove cake pan from water and place on wire rack, let cool completely. cove and let chill for 8 hours, Run knife around edges to loosen and invert into serving platter


note the flan will continue to set as it cools and set completely when chilled

I love poor mans tacos. You put sour cream, chicken nuggets (about 4) and cheese on a flour tortilla and roll it all up. yum.

My favorite has to be a beautiful red velvet cake :)

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 1/2 oz red food coloring
1 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon soda
1 tablespoons vinegar
PREPARATION:
Cream shortening; beat in sugar gradually. Add eggs, one at a time; beat well after each addition. Make paste of cocoa and food coloring; add to creamed mixture. Add salt, flour and vanilla alternately with buttermilk, beating well after each addition. Sprinkle soda over vinegar; pour vinegar over batter. Stir until thoroughly mixed. Bake in 3 8-inch pans or 2 9-inch pans for 30 minutes at 350°.

This is the meatloaf : 2 pounds ground beef...2 eggs...1cup corn flakes,crushed...1 onion,chopped...2 teaspoons pepper
...2 tablespoons parsley,minced......
This is the sauce : 1/2 cup ketchup...1/3 cup brown sugar,
packed...2 tablespoons cider vinegar...1 1/2 teaspoons brown mustard...1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.Prepare sauce in a bowl and set aside.Combine meatloaf ingredients with hands untill evenly mixed.Work in half of the sauce with the meatloaf.Place the meatloaf in a loaf pan and shape it.Pour the remaining sauce on top and bake for 50 minutes,or untill center is no longer pink.If you prefer a little kick try adding another tablespoon of mustard,and a dash of cayenne pepper. Enjoy...

Home Made Meatballs for spaghetti

2 lbs. ground beef
1 lb. ground pork [if you prefer can use all beef]
1&1/2 cups itailian bread crumbs
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
3 eggs-- beaten
1/4 to 1/2 cups milk [enough to make mixture moist]
1/4 cup parsley flakes
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper [less if you like less pepper]

Mix spices, bread crumbs and cheese thouroughly in large bowl, add meat and eggs, slowly add milk as you mix mixture.

Shape into round balls [what ever size you prefer] and place on cookie sheet, [sprayed with Pam] and bake at 350 degrees for approx. 20 to 30 minutes, turning with tongs after 10 minutes. or so. When completely browned add to favorite pasta sauce. Makes alot, depending on size balls you make. Can be frozen. Home Made Sauce is best!==IMO

This is my "Home made Potato soup"

7 to 10 potatoes (chopped, cooked, and drained)
1 large onion, chopped
3 cans chicken broth
2 cups milk
Butter
2lbs ham ( cooked and diced)
1 can peas
1 can carrots ( diced)
shredded cheddar cheese
about 1 cup mashed potato flakes

In a large pot, add about 3 tablespoons of butter and onion. saute for about 2 min. Add potatoes. Add chicken broth and stir. Add ham, peas, carrots. stir. Add milk. stir. let simmer for about 30 min. add potato flakes stir. serve with shredded cheddar cheese on top. Enjoy!

I make my meals for a crowd so you may want to half the recipe if you are only feeding 2 to 4 people.
I use the potato flakes at the end to thicken the soup. You can also use corn starch.
