I need some advise.?!
Answers: Hey I'm Jessica Paré, and if you don't believe me, then that's you, but I need some advise. I am cooking a 3 course meal for 6 people tomorrow for a family gathering and I have no idea what to cook. Please help me!
Well I'm not sure who Jessica Pare is so I believe you are her.
I would think that a salad is always a good start to most dinners I like this one
Iceberg with apple
one head of iceberg lettuce washed and torn into bit size pieces
3 apples(any kind you like) corded and pealed then cut into chunks
2cups of carrots shredded
and any dressing you like....I like Otto's myself
then a big pot of pasta with meat sauce ( I like to use tube pasta ) You may even want to dress it up a bit buy Roasting 2 heads of garlic ,and adding it to your meat sauce.....then placing your pasta and sauce into a greased baking dish top with cheese and let bake at 375 for about 20 mins.
End the meal with something light ........ maybe a mint moose or lemon bar! good luck Oh and if you need a recipe for the meat sauce or the lemon bars Just ask!

You're not jessica Paré :: she knows how to spell 'advice'!

I think a roast is the way to go when there are a few people....
some roast meat, roasted assorted vegies, potato bake, cauliflower cheese....stuff you can put in the oven....
not too much effort for you as to avoid stress, but everyone loves a roast so its a win-win....
A safe bet is roast. That is what I always make when I need something impressive for a crowd and simple to make.
You can either add carrots and potatoes in with the roast or make mashed potatoes on the side. I also always have buttered corn and hot rolls with it.
Hope this helps
1 st coarse ----tossed salad with bread sticks
2nd coarse---- meatloaf and baked potato
3rd coarse----jello with fruit
I would start with a simple shrimp cocktail. Five to six large or jumbo shrimp per person. If you have margarita glasses, garnish the bottom of the glasses with kale lettuce, put your cocktail sauce in the middle and hang the shrimp on the side.
Main course: Pork tenderloin, with baked sweet potatoes (wrap in foil & bake for 1 hr @ 350) and steamed veggies (broccoli, cauliflour & baby carrots). Have butter, brown sugar & cinnamon for potato toppings.
For desert: Strawberry short cake is easy to make and hard to beat. Also have some coffee to go with desert.
It's family, do some simple, yet delicious things.
First course:
A wonderful green salad complete with lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, chopped garlic, cucumber, zucchini, grated cheddar and a light Italian dressing. (Trust me, the cucumber and zucchini do work)
Main course:
Roast Prime Rib seasoned with rosemary.
Creamy garlic mashed potatoes and brown gravy.
Carrots carmelized with brown sugar.
or
Green beans seasoned with a ham hock and onion
Butterhorn rolls and real butter
Dessert:
Mixed berry cobbler with red raspberries, blueberries and blackberries ala mode with French Vanilla Ice Cream
It certainly works for my familyl, I hope it will for yours, too.
