HELP! HURRY! What part of my oven is the broiler?!

Question: What part of the oven is the broiler? Is it the little door/drawer under the main oven door?

Answers: What part of the oven is the broiler? Is it the little door/drawer under the main oven door?

Probably.

In some models, that's just a pots and pans drawer.

Is there open flame (or a hot element) in the roof of that drawer? If so, it's your broiler.

If not, then your oven uses the top element as a broiler, so just adjust your racks close to hit, set to broil, and go.

PS: Broiling is quick...keep an eye on things.

the top rack, broiling is heat from above.

It could be or that could be just a drawer for pans.

its either going to be that bottom drawer OR the top shelf of your oven. How can you tell? Turn it on broil open the bottome drawer...No Flame? Open your oven and see if the flame is at the top

Turn on the broiler and se where the heat is radiating from.
Electric stoves usually have the top burner in the oven.
Gas stoves the bottom drawer of the stove.

It depends on your oven. Look in the little drawer. Is there a heating element in there? If so, there is probably also a separate control to turn it on. My oven has a drawer as well but it is strictly for storage. The broiler is in the main compartment of the oven. I just set the dial to broil. You may want to look up your oven on the company website if you can't figure it out....or just bake intstead of broil to be safe :)

That depends on what kind of oven you have. The drawer could be storage. You can tell by looking at the top of the inside of the main part of the oven. If there is a grill looking burner on the top, then your broiler is in the main oven. If that grill looking burner is located on the top of the drawer at the bottom, then that is your broiler. You can also make sure there is nothing in the drawer and turn your broiler on. If it is gets warm and glows in the drawer, then that's your broiler. Good Luck. Be careful, broilers cook very fast.

wow....the drawer under the oven is for storing your baking pans. Try putting the item in the oven and switching it from bake to broil.
.... or better yet, don't cook and go out to eat. At this rate you might burn your apartment down and reach for some grease to put it out!!!

No, that is the warmer. The top burners int the oven is the broiling part

Yes, it's in the bottom

it all depends on whether your oven is gas or electric. for most gas ovens the broiler is the drawer under hte oven, but for electric ovens it it the very top part of the inside of the oven, you'll want to move the rack as close to the top of the inside as possiable.

The broiler has heat from above. It could be in the oven or under the oven

The top. I use it to broil steaks. 6 mins for rare to 10 mins for well done

Turn the f'n thing on and feel where it gets hot.

top part oven is bottom
