Can you freeze seafood once it's cooked?!
Am doing something similar again tonight, it will be about 2 large portions - so can I freeze some of it for another day?
Are there some sort of 'rules' I should be aware of with regards to seafood?
Many thanks.
Answers: I cooked some last week, which was more than enough for me, so I invited a friend round for dinner and we finished it off.

You can freeze cooked seafood- the only thing that I have noticed is that when you reheat it, it may be a little tough or dry. Seafood is better fresh.
No, you should be able to freeze it once it's cooked.
The rules depend on which seafood you cook a good rule of thumb with any meat it it has frost inside on the meat don't eat
Sure you can freeze it, just be sure when you get ready to eat the frozen portion that you either thaw it in the microwave, in the oven, or in the fridge. Don't let is set out and thaw.
You can freeze it, just make sure it is well sealed in a freezer bag before placing in the freezer.
You can freeze it. I doubt it will kill you, but I wouldn't leave it in the freezer for long, or it will not taste very good.
See frozen pre-cooked shrimp all the time.
Should be fine.
yup you can freeze it for up to 3-4 days in deep freezer it will be fine.....
suggestiions try to freeze the sea food with less water quantity in it....coz % of sugar and water in any food leads to getting it spoiled....if you freeze it should be fine...
You can go ahead an freeze your portions. But this time when you take it out of the freezer for the second time, don't think to freeze it for a third time. Since, when you freeze and unfreeze any kind of meat/seafood continously you get stomach cholics and maybe food poisoning.
Just freeze the portion you will be using. It there's some more left, freeze that too and just take it out when you think you will be needing it. Freeze it up to 15 days though.
Make sure that your seafood is well sealed. I wouldn't recommend you use your microwave to unfreeze it. Just put it in the frige. That should be good enough :0)
You can do this - but I wouldn't recommend it for a couple of reasons:
1) Each time you do something to sea food, you are altering the texture - so you cook it, freeze it, reheat it - it's now undergone three transformations - it will have a detrimental effect on the flavour.
2) The period between cooking and freezing and then the thawing process allows bacteria to grow. If you are going to do down this route, I would suggest cooling the food rapidly after cooking - you could do this by putting it in a plastic container and dunking that in iced water for example - and defrosting in the fridge (so that it never comes up to room temperature which is the ideal bacteria-growing temperature)
All in all, I recommend buying smaller amounts more frequently!
well my advice would be that if the sea food came in a pack check what it saya that might help or if it didn't check with someone
