Well, I think cookie recipes are all a matter of personal choice (some like crispy, some chewy, some all chocolate, some all sugary), so I can't give you specific recipe ideas.
But I can point you to a good recipe website that I use a lot. It's full of recipes posted by regular people like you and me, so some are good and some not-so-good, but I use the user reviews and my own educated guess on how a cookie recipe will turn out before I try it.
It's http://allrecipes.com/Recipes/Desserts/C...
You can search by main ingredient or just browse for ideas from bars to rolled cookies.
Good luck!
You can have a look at this site, there are many recipes for holiday cookies.

One that I use to make years ago was the basic Spritz cookies. Pressed them out with a cookie press in various designs. What made them special is the 1/2 box of dry jello, flavor of your choice, that was added to the dough. Strawberry or lemon was my favorite. No cookie press, candrop them by teaspoons or chill, roll in a log and slice. I have enclosed a recipe for you. Happy Holidays!!!
1 cup confectioners' sugar
2 sticks unsalted butter
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 cups sifted flour
Sprinkles for garnish
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a mixer with a paddle attachment, add the sugar and the butter. Mix until light and fluffy. Add the egg, vanilla and almond extracts and mix to incorporate. Sift together the baking powder and the flour. Add the flour mixture. Mix until combined. Using a cookie press, press cookies onto ungreased cookie sheets. Top with the sprinkles of your choice. Bake for 5 to 8 minutes, or until firm, but not yet browning.
