Answers: I have been told by Dr to go on low salt diet need some good recipes or websites to find recipes everything i look at at the grocery store has sodium how do you do this what can i eat what not to eat i know the obvious things like junkfood and fried foods but what about salad dressings and things
do not add salt to anything you make at home..use mrs. dash instead..soo good.....use other spices to flavor your food..be sooo careful of prepared foods in the store..even "low sodium" is not low in sodium....check labels and do the best you can...nooooooooooooooo soda!!!!!!!!!!1
It's not hard. It's not recipes you need, because if you are doing the cooking, you are in control of how much salt is added. Just don't buy prepared foods. They are always high in sodium. I never buy them... no soups, no frozen meals of any kind. Anything else I read labels carefully. If you are careful about adding sald when you cook, and stay away from those prepared foods, which aren't healthy anyway, you'll do fine. I make my own dressings, but again... read the lables. Sodium content is clearly printed on all labels. Some dressings are low sodium, some are not. It's all about reading the labels. Of course fresh salads don't have salt. You don't have to worry about foods you prepare as long as it didn't come out of a box. Pastas are fine.... whole wheat pastas even better. Good luck.
Be careful about the prepared meals you buy, and go from scratch with your meals. No soda, no fast food, but nice homecooked meals.
You'll feel REALLY refreshed after cutting out some sodium, but remember that salt is needed in your body.
well if i may ask, what do you wish to accomplish with your diet, and do you have a goal? id be glad to point you in the right direction of some healthy but tasty ways!
My husband is on the same diet. I use frozen or fresh veggies and fruit never canned. Never add salt, cheese and processed meat are high in sodium, salad dressing in moderation, we just make our own oil and vinegar dressing.
