Yes, use olive oil if the recipe calls for it. It has a more lighter taste. The biggest mistake is using extra virgin oil for recipes that have high heat. The EOV breaks down under moderate heat.

It is very specific to the dish and the ethnicity of the dish. Never use olive oil in anything sweet and in ethnic dishes that call for other oils. Olive oil is mostly used with vegetables and with Italian, Greek and other foods of that region.

olive oil it suppose to be better for u

yes, there will be a big difference...stick with evoo or wait until you can buy some.

You can use veg. oil (canola, corn, whatever) in place of olive oil. OO adds a nice flavor and monounsaturated fats, which are healthy for you.

Use what the recipe calls for.

Extra virgin olive oil is excellent for cooking. You actually can buy it cheap at discount stores like Walmart or BigLots, or even fancier ones at stores like Ross, Marshalls, TJ Max etc.

For recipies that specifically call for it it's better to use, but of course if you are fresh out you can use what you have in its stead.
