What can I use instead of white wine for shrimp scampi?!

Question: I'm not of age to buy it myself for a couple more months and I'm really craving it, so there is shrimp thawing as I type this...
I read that you could use vinegar? how is that... i have distilled white vinegar and red wine and malt.
I believe I have 4 ounches of white grape gerber juice of my daughters haha if that would work?
If i mix say... vinegar and a little white grape juice... would that work?
The only broth i have is for chicken.
Although, i have canned clams in a white sauce..would that work at all?
also open to recipes like scampi, amaze me! Thanks

Vinegar - any kind will be too acidic - lemon is better - there is a chicken broth out there that has lemon added. fruit juices are too sweet and canned clams are too watery to add any flavor. Any alchohol in wine cooks out in the process - a mix of wine and broth should work too. Scampi is better when good olive oil is used - fresh garlic - fresh herbs and real butter. wine or broth is a secondary flavor - mainly to loosen or thin the sauce - the star of course is the shrimp - use large to jumbo - cook separately - barely pink and add to sauce before serving - dont' forget the bread - enjoy.

Please! Don't use grape juice of any kind in scampi.
It will make it sweet and yucky tasting.

You can substitute clam broth (in the juice or fish aisle)
Or
Chicken stock for a heartier flavor.
Or
Just use water.

Good Luck!

3 Tablespoons Butter
3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
2 teasponns Garlic Powder
2 teaspoons Lawry's Seasoning Salt
Juice of 1 Lemon
1/2 lb. Fresh Shrimp

Directions
Blend and heat the Butter, Olive Oil, Garlic Powder, Seasoning Salt and Lemon Juice. Add the Shrimp and cook for approximately 5 minutes or until the shrimp turns pink in color.
Serve over linguine noodles.
ENJOY!!!

Dry Vermouth would suffice if not preferred!
