Pumpkin added to my spice cake mix?!
Answers: Can I add canned pumpkin to a box of spice cake mix? I think it would add great flavor..anything else I may need to add or take away from the cake mix?
PUMPKIN SPICE CAKE
1 (18 1/2 oz.) pkg. spice cake mix
1 (15-16 oz.) spiced pumpkin pie filling
1/2 c. water
3 eggs
Confectioners glaze
In large bowl combine all ingredients and beat 3 minutes. Pour into 16-cup plastic fluted tube pan (pan may be greased with butter and coated with sugar and chopped nuts to make cake removal easier).
Microwave 10 minutes at MEDIUM or HALF POWER. Rotate dish 1/2 turn. Microwave at HIGH 5-6 minutes. Insert a toothpick into center of cake to test for doneness. Let stand directly on counter 10 minutes to cool. Remove from pan and spread with glaze. Makes 10-12 servings.
CONFECTIONERS SUGAR:
1 c. confectioners sugar
1/4 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 1/2 to 2 tbsp. milk

PUMPKIN SPICE CAKE
1 (19 oz.) pkg. spice cake mix
2 eggs
1/4 c. oil
1/2 c. water
1 (16 oz.) can pumpkin
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped
Sifted powdered sugar
Mix cake mix, eggs, oil, water and pumpkin until well blended. Stir in nuts.
For 2-layer cake: Divide batter between 2 wax paper-lined, glass baking dishes. Cook one layer at a time on BAKE for 6 minutes. Turn dish. Cook on HIGH for 3 minutes. After 5 minutes remove cake from dish to cool. Stack layers and dust with powdered sugar.
For Bundt or tube cake: Follow dish manufacturer's instructions regarding greasing. Pour batter into dish. Cook on HIGH for 10-12 minutes. Turn every 3 minutes. After 5 minutes remove from dish to cool. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

metallic ---- this is the only ones I could find
they seem to be for microwave but could be baked in oven @ 350*F untill golden brown and a tooth pick comes out clean. If you try one or both time them for futhure reference. hope this helped you jim b
pumpkin from the can is not very sweet OR have the spices...
A small can is 15oz so you add that to a std cake mix you need to reduce your water or milk. that is like 2 - 3 cakes
It is a guessing game. BE sure to add more sugar..
