Looking for suggestions ,can anyone suggest meals ,to cook?!
Answers: having trouble planning meals for dinner. your serious suggestions will be appreciated . thanks
I love cooking dinner everynight!
Here is what I do:
For meats I usually cook chicken twice a week, beef twice a week, pork once, and the other nights are left overs.
Get bottled marinades and when you get home from the store put the meat and the marinades in a big freezer bag and put it in the freezer, that way when you are ready to use it and take it out to defrost it marinates it too! You can pick from like 12 flavors! I love ginger soy with Pork chops, Honey Mustard with chicken, and mesquite steaks! Also Shake and bake is awesome!
For side dishes I get boxes of different noodles, Macaroni and cheese, or Uncle Ben's rice.
For veggies, I buy canned, frozen and fresh depending what is on sale.
How bout something spicey like gumbo? they're oh so good!
OH GOSH! Best recipe ever! It's from Paula Dean but I tweaked it a bit:
2 cans green beans (rinsed and drained)
3 cups of cooked chicken (i rip the meat of a rotisseree chicken)
1 medium onion, sauteed
1 can watered chestnuts, drained and chopped
1 can cream of celery soup
1 cup mayo
6 oz box of long grain wild rice cooked how it says to do it on the box
1 cup grated sharp cheddar
salt
crispy onions (like the kind in a can.. frenches is good)
Mix it all up except for the crispy onions and a bit of cheese. Throw all of that into a greased caserole dish. Add some grated cheese to the top then top it all off with the crispy onions.
bake this at 350 for 20-25 minutes or until it bubbles
THIS RECIPE IS AMAZING!
If all else fails, make sloppy joes and tater tots
chuck roast and garlic mashed potatoes
check out the website below. They have sample menus for different sized families, dietary preferences (Kosher, Vegetarian, Low-Carb), they use mostly whole foods, and even give you a shopping list! I liked her book a lot. Our only problem is that we grow our own meat, and the chickens don't come as boneless, skinless breasts.

One pot meals :) are the best my favorite that reminds me of my Mom, A nice simple pot roast,
A roast (beef or pork)
onions
potatos
carrots
mushrooms
butter
salt, pepper
1/4 pan with water (keep an eye on your water you don't want it to cook out you may need to add more here and there)
350 oven for 3-4 hours
my sister even adds fresh green beens 20 min before she is ready to eat and they turn out nice perfect, with a little crunch still to them
I like to cook, I just don't like recipes' with 10 different ingredients !!! :) Also, I cook like my mom and grandma mostly (From the south)
-For this you will need to save some bacon grease-
How about smoked sausage and fried potatoes
Get a package of smoked sausage at the store
cut up a few large potatoes into like french fry pieces.
Start boiling your sausage like if you were making hotdogs. In a large skillet drop in about 3 to 4 heaping tablespoons of refrigerated bacon grease. Add your cut up potatoes and throw a bit of onion in with it for flavor. If you have kids like me, they won't touch an onion with a 10 foot pole ! So , I cut up rings and take them out before serving.....they never even know it was in there LOL :)
Fry your potatoes until tendor and just sligtly browned.
Cut your sausage into bite sized pieces and throw them in with the potatoes and saute for a few minutes. That's it...your done :)
HINT: If you don't have onion, sprinkle some onion powder in the grease before adding potatoes to the skillet.
