Cooking apple - Bramley for preference. Take the core out and fill it with a mix of dried fruit and honey!

rasins, Cinnamon and nuts the serve with ice cream

I always use bramley apples for apple pie or crumble. To add colour to apple pie or crumble leave the skin on when you slice the apples and cook them in a pan, let me know if you like it that way. You can use Cinnamon if you want a different taste also you can use brown sugar.

Bramley. Score the apple round the middle and take out the core. Fill the hole with a mixture of soft brown sugar, a little butter, dried fruit soaked in port and a dash of cinnamon. Place in a baking dish with a little water in the base and bake in a moderate oven. Serve with custard, preferably home-made, or vanilla ice-cream.
Bramley. Probably the only thing which could tempt me back to live in the UK.

I like to use Granny Smith Apples, and I core them, then fill them with brown sugar, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, butter, and honey. Bake them until they are mushy/tender. You could also microwave them in a bowl covered with plastic wrap for 3 minutes.

Use a Bamley apple[cooker] dig out the core and fill with sweetmeat then put in a saucepan of water and boil it first, then put in oven mark 5 and bake for 3 mins.

Try this: core a good Bramley apple. Place on microwavable plate and make a cut through the skin all around the apple to stop it bursting. Then stuff the core with sultanas and dates. Nearing the top, push in a spoonful of dark brown sugar and top off with a nut of butter. Bake in your microwave until soft in the middle; I can't tell you exactly how long as they vary a lot, just keep checking. Then enjoy!

You can add custard, fresh cream or plain yogurt if desired. Yummy!
