go to BETTY CROCKER.com and you get to pick what you want to make and then you have some pretty good recipes for your xmas cookies for your family.

I saw some fun cookie recipes for pumpkin spice chocolate chip, delicate lemon, and an amazingly unique one for brownies at :
www.secrets-of-the-butchers-wife.com

my other favs are lemon bars, and the basic chocolate chip and the butterscotchies recipe on the back of butterscotch chips-I'm still experimenting with a cranberry oatmeal with white chocolate chips.

Russian Tea Cakes

Mix together thoroughly:
1 cup soft butter
1/2 cup confectioners sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Sift together and stir in:
2 1/4 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup finely chopped pecans

Chill dough. Roll into 1" balls. Place 2 1/2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake until set, but not browned. While still warm, roll in confectioners sugar. Cool. Roll in sugar again.

Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Makes 4 dozen 1 1/2: cookies.

Note: This is from an old Betty Crocker Cookbook. I prefer to roll them into balls without refrigerating, as it is a very stiff dough. It is the one cookie the family requires for Christmas. I add red and green sugar to the conf. sugar for Christmas, and they look cute in miniature paper cups.

Go to BHG.com and look up the recipe for Cardamom Snaps. Easy to make, and these are requested by several coworkers. They are my favorite cookies ever.
