Steak fajitas?!

Question: I made steak and chips tonight and it was AMAZING! Fried the steak for 8 mins in total. I want to make fajitas tomorrow so what's the easiest way? Not sure I want to touch the meat to cut it into strips before cooking but will find some gloves if it will be best. How long will the strips take to cook? And can I just cook the pepper and onion in the same pan? Any tips most appreciated!!

Start by cooking the onion and peppers first, they take longer than the steak strips. Once the strips are in is onlly a question of minutes.

If you don't want to touch the meat just get latex gloves and wash your hands with them on first, to make sure they don't transfer any funny flavours to the meat.

Tips: I also add garlic with the onions and peppers and once the meat is in, 2 teaspoons each of ground cumin and ground coriander and I don't need to use any fajita mix or such, all natural.

that sounds excellent.
Just cook the steak first, then cut it.
If you cook it in the toaster oven or frying pan top, should be about 6-10 minutes per side

By all means, wear gloves, it can help keep the meat from slipping while you are cutting it.
BEEF FAJITAS

1 lb. flank or sirloin steak, sliced diagonally into strips
1/2 c. fresh lime juice
3/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
1/2 tsp. Tabasco sauce
1 med. onion
1 med. green or red pepper
4 tbsp. oil
Four tortillas, warmed

Place beef strips into shallow dish. Combine lime juice, garlic powder, black pepper and Tabasco sauce and pour over beef, cover and refrigerate several hours or overnight. Remove meat from marinade; drain thoroughly. Cut onion and pepper into 1" chunks. Place 2 tablespoons of oil in frying pan. When oil is hot, brown onion and pepper until onion is slightly brown on edges. Remove onion and pepper; set aside. Add 2 tablespoons oil, brown beef, add onion and pepper; cook for 1 minute. Serve in warm flour tortillas. Makes 4 servings.

TIP: Chicken breasts can be substituted for the beef

Just do the same as today! Cook your steak in the pan but add the red peppers and onions about half way through. when cooked just chopped it all up to your liking!

yes you must cut the steak into strips before flash frying.
do the peppers and onions first then the steak then the fajita powder mix, or your own spices. then enjoy.
I think I will have them tomorrow too Mmmmm

fajita recipe

Measure Ingredient
1 can Cheap beer; (or bottle, Lone star is especially nice)
2 Limes ; juice of
3 tablespoon Olive or Canola oil
3 Cloves garlic; pureed
1 tablespoon Cumin
1 tablespoon Chili Powder
1 tablespoon Coriander
1 tablespoon Turmeric
3 Habanero peppers pureed; optional

Marinate Overnight, Grill over Mesquite and slice at a 45 degree angle to the grain of the meat.

Just get your hands in about the meat. Didn't you prod yesterday's steak when you where cooking it to check when it was cooked?

Thinly slice the steak and remove with a slotted spoon otherwise you will overcook the meat. Then flash fry the veg in the same pan so as not to waste the juices.
