How do you make homemade bar-b-q sauce !!?!
Answers: I don't want a recipe that involves using another bar-b-q sauce, i want an all natural recipe.....what gives bar-b-q sauce its taste any way??
BBQ Sauce gets its flavor from ketchup & brown sugar mainly
Here's my favorite recipe. Sometimes I add a half-teaspoon of Liquid Smoke to this.
Kansas City-Style BBQ Sauce:
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
3 tablespoons dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon cane syrup
2 teaspoons chopped garlic
1/2 teaspoon finely grated onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon ground mustard
1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
Combine all ingredients in a blender and process until thoroughly blended and smooth. Sauce may be made up to 1 week in advance and refrigerated in an airtight, non-reactive container.
Yield: about 2 cups
The easiest BBQ sauce can be prepared very quickly. You will need 2 cups of your favorite ketchup, 2 chopped onions, ? cup of apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, ? cup of brown sugar, and chili powder to taste. Sautee the onions and then add the remainder of the ingredients. Cook on low heat for around 15 minutes until the mixture thickens. Then brush on your favorite meat.
You can also add or substitute the above ingredients to create some very unique barbeque sauces on your own. You may prefer to add items such as peppers for a nice flavor or even Tabasco sauce for a hotter style.
Now, you can choose your flavorings and spices to add to the tomato sauce. You can use tomato sauce or tomato puree with a whole tomatoes. Try pineapple juice or orange juice for a tropical flavor or add liquid smoke flavoring for that outdoors flavor. You can even use molasses or your favorite pancake syrup to enhance the style of your bbq sauce. Don’t just think simple, try the various flavors such as maple or butter pecan to add a new and unique flavor.
1 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon black pepper
2 tablespoons onion powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons salt
1/3 cup lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 cup wine vinegar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons dry mustard
6 chicken breasts
Combine all ingredients except chicken breasts. Add chicken breasts to marinade mixture and marinate chicken breasts in the refrigerator for 2 to 4 hours before grilling.
Preheat grill. Place chicken breasts on the grill and cook until chicken is opaque in center, flipping twice during cooking, about 15 minutes total.
