I loved cows milk living on the farm I used to put it in a big mouth
jug to capture the cream on top, but frying chicken is not too much of difference.

>>>To make butter milk add a tsp of lemon juice or vinegar to a cup of milk.

It will be a little different but not enough, I would use it. My grandmother always uses cows milk. My granny uses buttermilk. They both are delicious.

I'd use one of these for a substitute:

For each 1 cup buttermilk called for in a recipe, use 1 cup plain yogurt or sour cream;

OR

1 tablespoon lemon juice or vinegar plus enough milk to make 1 cup;

OR

1 cup milk plus 1 3/4 tablespoons cream of tartar

butter milk is cows milk just with a high butter fat content..but i use 2% milk when making my bread bowls and it says to use buttermilk.. and they come out fine..

yes.
