Not usually. That's the point of meatloaf: to make it easy.

Nope

Depends on how you make it. Some ppl saute onions and bellpeppers and such before they put it in, while some put it in raw. And others leave it out all together.

Nope just mix it all up, shape it in your pan and pop it in the oven. Don't make it too thick or it will take longer to cook and remember to leave room around it for fat/juice to drain off otherwise it spills over the pan.

Just mix all the ingredients and bake that's it

Not typically. However, if you're not into having your veggies (onion, celery, bell peppers, etc) crunchy or strong-flavored, you CAN saute them ahead of time before mixing into the ground meat, but its certainly not necessary.

I sauteed the green pepper and onions before I mix into my loaf.

It can also be cooked in the microwave. Thats how we do it.

I've always just combined everything, formed it and then baked the whole thing together.

No need. Just mix it up and toss it in the oven.

no...its all dry ingredients...your meat, your onions, bread or breadcrumbs...seasoning. Just mush it all together in a loaf shape and bake.

yes....i cook the trinity which amongst chefs means celery onions peppers.. let cool and add to the meatloaf.. makes a big difference..i watched bobby flay take on the kings of meatloaf in the episode trow down.. and they cooked it first so i tried it and it does make a difference

It depends on the cook and your tastes..for example: One of my best girlfriends, won't make chili or meatloaf without sautee'ng her onions, peppers and celery. I asked her why and she replied"That is nasty, having anything raw in your food, it should be sautee'd first", Well, me I usually just mix my onions and peppers in with the meat "raw", but for crock pot stews, or beans I will sautee because I find it gives better flavor to the pot..:)!

there is no need to cook anything just mix it all together and bake when are you making one I'm hungry and i LOVE MEATLOAF.
