Cooking in croc-pot question?!

Question: I took a beef roast out last night and it was still a tiny bit frozen just now as I took it out to put it in the croc-pot. I planned to cook it on low for 8 hours, will it not turn out good since it is not completely thawed?

It should be fine but if it is over 3 pounds I might cook it on high and then switch it to low later on today! I also put a roast in the crock pot....we must be twins!

Brown it on both sides and it should be fine.

I put frozen meat in my crock all the time. It turns out fine. It may take a little longer to cook through.

Yes, you can cook a semi-frozen roast in the crock pot. However, I would put it on high for 8 hours.

It will just fall apart. That's the only way I will fix a roast.

I would defrost it a bit in the microwave. If you are trying to save time turn the crock on high for an hour of the cooking I have done that. Check meat temp at the end to be safe.

no problem, it will come out fine

It will be fine but i do it on high.I cook them so long on high i wouldnt go to work and leave it because it will need more water.....I at times cook mine all night and its ready for next day (usuallysundays)lunch.

that's OK.
Beef and Lamb can be cooked from frozen as long as the internal temperature reaches at least 74centigrade.
slow cooking for beef roasts is the best
the slower the better.

NEVER cook Pork or poultry that isnt completly de-frosted

remmember to let the beef "rest" for about 15mins before serving
