Whats a good wheat free substitute for flour?!

Question: I'm allergic to gluten.

Answers: I'm allergic to gluten.

Depending on what you are making:

Corn meal
Rye flour
Oats
Rice

Spelt flour.

It may not work across the board, but cottage cheese works well in pancakes and waffles and cookies.

Get Gluten free products. They make a TON of Gluten FREE foods/ flour. Your best bet is go to a place like Whole Foods or Trader Joes. If not look at local grocery store, there is always GLUTEN FREE foods there. Just ask the store people to show you. Read the labels
Google- Gluten free diets...

Check out the healthfood section of your grocery store. there are many gluten free flours out there. Most stores carry a variety.

If you cannot have Gluten (because I assume you have Celiac Disease) you CANNOT have Spelt or oats. U can have Gluten Free oats but you need to buy them from a dedicated manufacturer who makes only GF oats, not a company like Quaker.

Common GF flours are:
tapioca
potato
soy
corn
rice

Many ppl who eat GF find that a mix of GF flours is best, such as Bob's Red Mill All Purpose Flour or making their own mix using Bette Hagman's Gluten Free Gourmet cookbook.
