How do you make fried cabbage.?!


Question: My son loves fried cabbage when we go to someones house for dinner and they have cabbage He will eat almost all of it if I don't stop him. I work alot and do not have time to communicate with friends to get the recipe or watch them prepare it.

I would just shred up a head of cabbage, chop some onion & garlic, get a pan to stir fry the cabbage, add some butter/olive oil/bacon grease (either one of these choices), and stir fry the onions and garlic first for a little while and then add the cabbage until wilted to your liking....don't forget the s & p

You take a head of lettuce.. you cut it up (make sure it's washed really well) and you fry it until it's tender. (I use butter or oleo) really- thats it.

I usually fry some chopped bacon first, remove from pan, and add a little oil to the pan without removing the pork drippings. Shred a cabbage and place in the pan, salt to taste, keep stirring until it has wilted and starts to brown slightly. Serve with the bacon sprinkled over the top. Also good served with most types of grilled sausages.

1. Fry bacon until crispy, remove.
2. In the bacon grease fry up some chopped onion and a clove of garlic.
3. Add chopped cabbage add some chicken broth
4. cover and let simmer.
5. Salt and pepper to taste.
6. Crumble up bacon and toss in and mix.

Done.

I prefer to render some bacon until crispy, add shredded cabbage, cook until wilted but still a little crispy over fairly high heat. But cook to your desired tenderness.

You also try making him cabbage rolls or cabbage soup sometimes. You have a good eater !

Cheesy Cabbage Soup

4 C. chicken broth
3 C. shredded cabbage
1 C. chopped ham
2 carrots, thin sliced
1 pkg ( 5.5 oz) dry au gratin potato mix
1 C. milk
1 C. frozen green beans
1 tsp cornstarch

Combine first 4 ingredients in soup pot. Add dry au gratin mix. Bring to boil, then lower to simmer. Combine milk and cornstarch... add to to soup along with frozen beans. Cook for 30 min or until vegetables are tender and cooked through.

Fry 1 lb. of Bacon and remove
Saute onion and garlic in bacon grease and then add cut up head of cabbage.
Add a little chicken broth
Season with salt, pepper and seasoning salt
Allow cabbage to cook down to your liking (tenderness)and add the bacon. Enjoy :)
