What is the difference between 'Kheer' and 'Firni'?!

Question: There isn't an overriding difference, other than kheer being Pakistani in origin, while firni is Indian. Like most rice pudding, the variations or endless, and even two traditional recipes may be quite different. If there is one thing that sets them apart, firni may be ground finely traditionally, but I've had both, both ways. Kheer is basically synonymous with firni.
