How do you fix your meatloaf?!
Answers: I put in the hamburger of course. Then I throw in oatmeal, crushed crackers, instant rice (if we have it), tomato paste, tomato sauce, eggs, ketchup, and seasonings.
My family loves my meatloaf it contains hamburger, finely chopped onions, finely chopped green peppers( wish I could give you measurements but I just eyeball it), unseasoned bread crumbs, ketchup, eggs, garlic powder, salt, pepper.
The veggies give it a great taste.
Omg your avatar scared me. What should i do? can you please answer that question?? are you a man??
i make mine with meat, breadcrumbs, onions and sometimes with tomato soup its to die for!
i throw in garlic powder, chopped onion, a bit of salt and pepper, about a half cup of instent potatoes for thicking 9uncooked of course){ sometimes a bout a 1/4 can or mushroom soup(but only if i plan to put gravy on the loaf) } mix in some cheddar cheese chunks (not always but its amazing) and top it off with ketchup
1lb ground turkey
chopped onions
baked beans (sometimes)
tomato sauce or ketchup
italian breadcrumbs (sometimes)
1 egg
seasonings
Mine is prety simple Hamburger . sausage , onion(fresh yellow) sometimes bell peper . saltine crackers or oatmeal , I then put potatoes and carrots around the meat with a bayleaf. and Mrs dash seasoning and slow cook for several hours, my mom puts tomatoes in the meat. my Dad shreads the potatoes into the meat, they don't use the sausage.
The only meatloafs I haven't liked have always had too much bread. I understand the reason for the bread is to make the meat go farther.
I use 2 lbs. ground chuck. I put in about 3/4 cup of Progresso Italian Style breadcrumbs, 1 envelope of Lipton onion soup mix, 2 eggs (stir with fork first), 1/3 cup ketchup, salt (I just sprinkle), pepper (just sprinkle over top before mixing), and a little garlic salt. Preheat oven to 350. Combine all above ingredients. Shape into a loaf domed shape. I usually use a glass pan about the size of the meatloaf with about one inch all around to spare. Then I poke holes in the loaf and insert Kraft American cheese pieces from a slice of cheese. I use about 1/4 slice in each hole. Bake for about 30 minutes and then pour over the top of meatloaf a mixture of (3/4 cup ketchup, 1 tblsp. mustard, 1/3 cup brown sugar); cook another 30 minutes. It's done!
It's a little different every time, since I rarely measure anything, and I tend to put in whatever I feel like eating at the moment, but it's always good. Here are some of the ingredients I most commonly use:
Meat - hamburger, sometimes hamburger and turkey
medium chunky salsa
green pepper, diced
lots of dried onion bits
A1 sauce
worcestershire sauce
egg
salt and pepper
garlic powder or minced garlic
spices, such as savoury, thyme, and ginger
crushed herb seasoned croutons, or
crushed cracker crumbs if I'm out of croutons

CHEESE STUFFED MEATLOAF
1 1/2 lb. ground chuck beef
1 c. milk
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. chopped green pepper
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
3 slices fresh bread, finely crumbled
3 slices fresh bread, cubed
2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. chopped celery
1 egg, slightly beaten
Make meatloaf mixture: In large mixing bowl, mix together beef, bread, milk, salt and pepper. Make cheese stuffing: In 1 1/2 quart casserole place onion, pepper, celery and lemon juice. Microwave on high 3 minutes, until lightly sauteed. Add egg to hot vegetables and stir to blend well. Stir in cheese and fine bread crumbs. To assemble meatloaf: Pat half of meat mixture in bottom of 9-inch glass pie plate. Mound filling over meat leaving about 1 inch uncovered at edges. Spread remaining meat mixture over filling. Seal around edges. Brush assembled meatloaf with 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce. Insert temperature probe so tip is in center of stuffing. Cover tightly with plastic wrap, arranging loosely around probe to vent. Attach cable end at receptacle.
Microwave at high 25 to 30 minutes. Let stand about 10 minutes to firm before serving. Serve in wedges. Makes 4 to 6 servings
