Sprinkle it with kosher salt and a little baking soda. Cut a lemon in half and sort of scrub the salt and baking soda with the lemon into the board. Rinse, Dry well. Voila, no smell!

wash it maybe i dont know

oh buy a new one !

Try cutting a lemon in half and rubbing it on the cutting board.

Doesn't lemon cure onion? Or maybe soak it in tomato juice like you would for skunk stench.

Try rubbing lemon juice on it, lemon usually takes the smell out of my hands. I read this a while back and it has worked for me.

I think vinegar as well as lemon should do the trick

If the lemon trick doesn't work (above), then try buying some sea salt. After wetting the board down, rub salt onto the board and allow to stand for 10 minutes, then rinse in HOT water (do NOT immerse in hot water).

If this doesn't work, you may be stuck with buying a new board.

I learned long ago to wash my boards immediately after using them for onions and/or meat, or to just cut the onion on a paper plate and discard.

throw it way and get a new one from pampered chef.... wooden cutting boards harbor bacteria

lemon juice or vinegar will neutralize the smell.

Chlorine will take it out. Wash it in hot soapy water with a stiff brush and then bleach it with a dilute chlorox solution. Rinse.

Use a metal scrubber and scour the board, then dip a lemon half in baking soda and scrub the entire board. The baking soda removes odors and the lemon a nice smell. To remove onion smell from your hands wash your hands with a metal butter knife, rub the knife all over your hands under running water. It really works I was surprised.

Have you tried bleach? I would look it up online and see what you can find out, I know wooden boards are harder to maintain and do require some additional maintenance. I have switched over to the lightweight plastic kind and use certain colors for certain foods (onions & garlic for one, chicken for another, etc)

Try vinegar. I read somewhere that if you leave a tin pan of it out after you cook onions and garlic (like over night) then the smell will be gone.

Try putting stainless steel on the board where it smells, and running water over it. It works on hands to get the smell off.... might work there too.
