I need 1/3 cup of cocoa powder for a brownie recipe. I have these Nestle little packages of premeltedsubsitute!

Question: cocoa powder. One packet equals one ounce of unsweetened baking chocolate. How much do I add?

Answers: cocoa powder. One packet equals one ounce of unsweetened baking chocolate. How much do I add?

I would say start with 2 packets. When everything else is mixed together, taste your batter. If it tastes good, great, and bake. If it tastes like it needs more choc, and another packet and try again. Continue til you get your desired 'chocolatiness'. If you accidently get a lil too much, add a tablespoon of sugar, and that will balance the unsweetened choc.

1 cup equals 8 ounces, so 1/3 of a cup equals 2 2/3 ounces. I'd go with three packets, but if you like your brownies a little less chocolatey then go with 2. You could always just estimate 2/3 (but more chocolate's always better!).
