Cooking with alcohol and pregnancy?!
Answers: If I use alcohol in my cooking (sherry, white wine, etc) will it effect my pregnancy or does it simply cook down into the dish?
Unless you have an unusually strong reaction to alcohol, you should be alright. Most of the alcohol cooks out quickly leaving only trace amounts. It is wonderful you are so concerned for your baby's health...happy pregnancy!
I have read that it cooks down. BUT I can still taste it and I do not like it. If it were me, I would not cook with it just in case. My husband says he can taste it too.
If its one of two things:
A small amount
or you burn it off
i would say it wont effect it. But dont make a habit of consume it.
Alcohol burns out when cooked. It does not hurt to use/eat during pregnancy
The alcohol burns off so it is not going to effect the baby negatively. If you like the taste go for it.
You will taste the wine but the alcohol will be cooked away. You and the baby will be fine.
It will cook down or out.
you should have no fear to enjoy wine
My god wine has been used at meals for thousands (x10) of years.
Abuse is the concern
