Any meat that is pre-cooked and cubed. I love salami dipped in cheese fondue.
Any bread that is firm and cubed. Sour dough is tasty and familiar to most people.
Many fruits will compliment the cheese, a few being apples and pears.
Vegetables are an easy choice, firm ones like carrots, broccoli and cauliflower. Zucchini sticks, radish and bell peppers.
You can also dip unusual and fun things like Slim Jims, hot dogs, bread sticks, pretzels, crackers, and pretty much anything you can think of that goes good with melted cheese, even cheese sticks dipped in fondue are tasty!

Cubed ham, blanched broccoli, carrots, or cauliflower, cherry tomatoes, chopped green bell peppers, cubed French bread, peeled and chopped apples & pears.

The apples, pears, and French bread cubes are the ones served most often.
