Tortilla ideas?!

Question: I have a pack of regular flour tortillas and I know you can do a lot with these. Just wondering what are some good ideas in terms of Spanish dishes, traditional recipes, family recipes, (preferably including chicken, steak, etc my family def likes meat). Thanks for any input.

tortillas are Mexican, not Spanish. In Spain a "tortilla" is kind of thick baked egg and potato dish, not completely unlike a frittata.

As for uses, you can cut them into sections and do a layered casserole (like lasagna) with salsa, cheeses, ground beef, etc.

You can of course make quesadillas too, which are basically just grilled cheese sandwiches. Take one tortilla, fill it with any kind of meat and/or vegetable filling (refried beans, grilled veggies or chicken) and cheese. Put another tortilla on top and throw in a dry skillet on the stove top. After a few minutes, flip it. Cook on both sides until slightly browned. Remove from heat, let cool a minute, then cut gently into quarters.

Alright Mr. Wize, I assume thumbs down came from you since no one else answered yet. You're lame. Go eat your tortillas.

I use them for a quick lunch. You can put them on a plate, lay chicken or meat slices on them and heat in the microwave for about 30 to 40 seconds. Put a little salsa on top of the meat, roll up, and eat.

For a quick snack, you can place a piece of cheese on one, put into your microwave for about 30 seconds, roll up and eat.

You can add anything you wish such as onions, peppers, olives, etc.

I make what I call an enchilada cassarole and layer chili tortillas cheese onions tomatoes whatever I have and some enchilada sauce. Actually I use corn tortillas for that. I relly love to put all kinds of things on tortillas and nuke em. Cheese, onions and salsa are one of my favorite snacks. Not very original, but satisfying. Also for pot lucks we roll up tortillas and creme cheese with jalapenos and cut them into bite sized pieces.

Breakfast Burritos Or Tacos- (depending on size) scrambled eggs, sausage/bacon/ham/steak (or any combination of these), shredded cheese (best to use are cheddar/Jack/American), salsa and if you want to hash browns or tater tots (Sonic inspired)

Tacos- Grilled and seasoned chicken/Steak or seasoned ground meat.

Burritos- same as tacos just add more stuff like refried beans and sour cream, etc.

Chips- Fry them in oil till crispy

Enchiladas- This one and chips I favor corn tortillas big time, but I have seen both done with flour.

I can imagine you can make some sort of casserole with them too, just layer tex-mex ingredients on top of tortillas in a baking dish.

Or you can do like the Mexicans do, use them as utensils instead of forks and knives. My ex's family used to do this.
