Are there any really good recipes for brownies that don't involve extreme amount of sugar or butter?!

Question: I'm trying to find the perfect and healthier recipe than the one I have.

With most baked goods you can substitute apple sauce for some of the oils.

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 egg or 2 egg whites
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce or prune puree
1/4 cup reduced-fat sour cream
1/4 cup fat-free milk

PREPARATION:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Coat an 8-inch square baking pan with nonfat cooking spray.

In a medium bowl, stir together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder and salt.

In a large bowl, lightly beat egg if using, or place egg whites in bowl.

Add vanilla, applesauce, sour cream and milk. Whisk until well blended. Add dry ingredients and mix until just moist.
Empty batter into pan and bake for 25-30 minutes. The center should still be slightly soft. Cool in pan for a few minutes and continue to cool on a wire rack.

Makes 16 brownies.

ask mary jane !!!!!!!!!!

no, it's either less sugar and more butter or less butter and more sugar, I think =p

You take the one you have and use less sugar and organic sugar, use 1-2 tablespoons instead of 1 cup and in place of butter use yogurt which is a very acceptable alternative to butter or oil in recipes and you use the same amount as called for.

well this isn't technically a recipy but i highly recomend "No Pudge" brownie mix. it is a boxed brownie mix that is sold in most supermarkets and online but is fat free and only requires some vanilla yogurt to add. sounds weird but they are actually amazingly good! and fat free!!! i brought them to school for my 8th grade graduation and everyone loved them . i didn't tell anyone they were fat free but everyone liked them beter than the home baked brownies that this other kid brought. definatly try it!!! i think the web site is www.nopudge.com

There's a mix you can get at health food stores (a lot of regular grocery stores have it in the health food isle) called No Pudge brownie mix. You make them with nonfat yogurt and they are really quite good. And easy.

wat do you have in urs?? the one i have is really easy and very good.. and it has 1 cup sugar and half cup butter or margarine.. and you can substitute the real sugar for slenda .. but with certain things when it comes to baking you cant change to much or it might not turn out to well - depending on what it is.. but if its to much oil u can use a tbl spoon or 2 then the rest orange juice and stuff well if you want the recipe i have let me know.. and hope this helps..
