1 cup packed light brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
In a large bowl, cream together the shortening, butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture. Stir in the pecans and chocolate chips. Use a measuring tablespoon to round dough into balls. Don't roll the balls, just make them rounded. Place onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, or until centers are set and very lightly browned. Don't overbake. Cool 2 to 3 minutes before removing from baking sheets. Make sure you have lots of ice cold milk!!!

a lot- just come with me for shopping ok.

My sister found this yummy recipe. You can use 3 cups of chocolate chips instead of 4, unless you like a lot of chocolate.

The recipe on the back of a name brand bag of chocolate chips is great. Throw in a cup of cranberries and enjoy good ol' fall flavors.

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
1/2 cup chunky or smooth peanut butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 egg
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
PREPARATION:
Preheat oven to 375°.
Cream the butter, peanut butter and sugars until light. Add the egg and mix until fluffy.

Blend the flour, baking powder, soda and salt together well.

Add these dry ingredients to the butter mixture. Add the chocolate chips.
Drop cookie dough by teaspoonfuls onto lightly greased baking sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes at 375°.

the last one had a pic of them that looked oh so chewy

I am going to agree with HEY... the award winning chocolate chip cookies posted on all receipes.com are the best CCC's I have ever tasted. I spent months trying to find the perfect receipe. This is a keeper. I always halve the ingred. for less cookies and if I recall I also add a little vanilla (I use 1 1/2 tsp) and 1/2 tsp salt to the mix. YUM
I can't rave enough about them!
