Lob scouse aka Irish Stew with dumplings! It could, of course be made with anything you fancy and nowadays there is apparently a need to make everything spicey, but give me the old classics any day. Especially those which cook on their own whilst out taking a bracing walk! Oh, happy days!

Lard sarnies

Poutine, but I live in Montreal

Hot soup... I love homemade chicken noodle soup or cornbread and chili.

sausage casserole made with colmans casserole mix followed by asda's suet jam roly and thick creamy birds custard! TASTY!!!

Mashed Potato with loads of real butter beef sausages and onion gravy with hp brown sauce yum!!!!!!!!!

Beef Stew and Dumplings!!! Followed by Apple Crumble and Custard!!!

Homemade broccoli, ham and cheese soup, warm roll and then hot brownie pudding with whip cream!

Mine is actually more of a snack than a meal. I like hot tea with milk and sugar and graham crackers spread with butter... dip the graham crackers in the hot tea and get it all mushy and melty. Yum! Perfect on a cold night.

Beef Roast with veggies and scratch made biscuits are a favorite.
Then there's seared pork tenderloins with bread stuffing and fried apples, served with garden fresh, steamed carrots and butter sauce with biscuits.
We also love to have butter-beans and ham served over rice topped with onions and pepperncini. Cornbread on the side.

mmmmmm - just reading this made me salivate!

Mine would be really decent sausages, mash, peas and gravy! (I don't quite have the descriptive touch that you have, but it's still nice all the same!)

Rabbit or astew with dumplings or Yorkshire Puddings.

proper homemade stew
roast beef dinner
bowl of soup followed by baked potato and cheese mmmm

Savory Cheese Soup
Tortilla Soup
French Onion Soup
Wild West Chili
Cilantro Corn Soup

We love soups in winter with a big pan of skillet cornbread and sweet butter

My very own Black Bean Soup recipe, served over yellow rice, with garlic bread.
Here are the directions;
Serves 4 to 6
In a large pot:
Pour & heat 1 or 2 TBS olive oil
Add 1 lb. of link sausage, sliced & quartered, 2 large chopped onions, 1 minced clove garlic in 2 TBS. olive oil.
Cook until onions & garlic are tender.
Add:
2 cans black beans (do not drain), 1 can sliced & drained pitted black olives, 1 small jar drained roasted peppers slices, 2oz. red wine vinegar, 4 oz. water, 1/2 tsp. dried oregano, 1 TBS. dried parsley.
Bring to a rapid boil, stirring constantly for 2 mins. Reduce heat to a simmer, cook for 10 to 15 mins.
Optioal: 1 tsp Tabasco Sauce.
Serve over yellow rice with garlic bread and beverage of your choice.
Great simmered in the crock pot for pot-lucks.
