The Slow-Cooked Pot Roast is very good, but please note the directions at the bottom for your Crockpot.

SLOW-COOKED POT ROAST

1 Tbs. Gold Medal All-Purpose Flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 lb. boneless beef top round steak (1/2 inch thick), cut into serving-sized pieces
4 medium potatoes, peeled, each cut into 6 pieces
4 large carrots cut into 1-inch pieces
1 onion, thinly sliced
1 bay leaf
1 (14 1/2-oz.) can ready-to-serve beef broth
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbs. cornstarch

In shallow bowl, combine flour, salt and pepper; mix well. Add round steak pieces to flour mixture; turn to coat both sides. Spray large nonstick skillet with nonstick cooking spray.
Heat over medium-high heat until hot. Add beef; cook 2 to 3 minutes on each side or until browned. Remove from skillet; cover to keep warm. In 3-1/2 or 4-quart slow cooker, combine potatoes, carrots and onion; mix well. Add bay leaf. Place browned beef over vegetables. In small bowl, combine 1 1/2 C. of the broth and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over beef. Cover; cook at low setting for 8 to 10 hours or until beef is tender. With slotted spoon, remove beef and vegetables from slow cooker; place on serving platter. Cover to keep warm. Pour liquid into medium saucepan; discard bay leaf. In small bowl, combine remaining broth and cornstarch; blend until smooth. Add to liquid in saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly. Boil 1 minute. Serve sauce with beef and vegetables.

Note: This recipe was tested in slow cookers with heating elements in the side and bottom of the cooker, not in cookers that stand only on a heated base. For slow cookers with just a heated base, follow the manufacturer's directions for layering ingredients and choosing a temperature.

yeah it is fine to leave it on while you are at work! I LOVE CROCK POT RECIPIES! The beauty of them is that you can throw whatever you like in them, and it always tastes good.

I put some beef broth, beef cubes, red potatoes carrots, celery, onion all in and it makes a wonderful stew!

Chili is my favorite thing. Just put everything in it in the morning and it's soooo good when you get home. You can even put the hamburger in raw if it's lean enough. Other things are ribs, roast, stews.

A pork roast, with a can of creme of mushroom soup and a french onion soup mix. Cook it long.

My husband is from Hawaii so we love to cook kalua pork in our Crock Pot. I use a recipe that I discovered on Allrecipes.com.
Here's the link if you're interested in trying it out.

I buy a corned beef and red potatoes and carrots. I wash the carrots and potatoes...I peel the carrots and cut in big chunks and cut the potatoes in half.

Be sure the corned beef you buy is small enough to fit in your crock pot!!

I lay the corned beef in the crock pot (I rinse it off first), add the spices from the packet that comes with it, lay in the vegetables and cover it all with water.

I cook it on high for at least 9 hours.

You get a perfect corned beef and veggies.

Some people like to add cabbage (but you have to do that at the end of your cooking time or it will fall apart).

This is great for St Pat's!

Take your favorite casserole style mac & cheese recipe and do it in the crock pot. It comes out much lighter than cooking it in the oven, almost like a souffle. You do not have to precook the pasta. The edges even get that tasty "burnt" edge. Cook on low for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours

Besides the obvious according to my name. Navy beans and Keilbasa sausage. Wash the beans thoroughly and dump 'em into the pot. Cut the sausage into 1" slices...dump 'em in the pot. Add some chopped yellow onion..some sliced carrots..some sliced potatoes. .some chopped celery. Season with salt and pepper to your taste. (I add a little Cayenne for a hidden flavor). Set your pot on low and cook for 10 hours. Nice country comfort food. Play with the recipe in any way you want. Maybe a can of Ro-Tel or a chopped up yellow bell pepper. Etc.

roast with potato's and carrots is my fav. but there are a lot of chooses, look up the food network for good ideas
