a butcher
I have plenty of cling film if that would be of any use to you, your very welcome to it.
well sadly most butchers these days don't make their own sausages anymore- therefore they don't have the casings on site. My best recommendation would be to seek out a butcher who DOES and request casings from them... ask if they've been bleached cause if you're a first-timer bleached is the way to go!
a butcher would be your best option
There are companies out there that specialize in products related to sausage making and meat preservation. I know because I recently did some research on salting and pickling fish & meats. Try an internet search with keywords "sausage casing, meat curing" and I'm sure you will come up with someone who can provide the casings for you. If you would rather try a local route, ask around at farms that raise animals for slaughter. If they can't provide them, they can tell you where to find a meat processor that would be able to sell you casings. You would probably have to clean and prepare them yourself, though. Good luck with the sausages!
we call them mystery bags
I think you could purchase the casings from a local butcher shop. Or if not call around to butcher shops/meat markets and see who their distributors are. See if they only handle wholesale only or if can handle retail transactions. If they handle retail sales then you can just buy what you need. Also, there are online suppliers like the one I'm listing below.
I tell you there is nothing like great sausage. I especially like Italian sausage with extra caraway seeds. Good luck.
any good butcher has casings, or can get them with a bit of notice. My husband makes sausages sometimes, he gets his casings from Doherty's butchers in the Birmingham Market.
btw, this is a great recipe book he uses all the time.

if you want the real skins get them from a butcher.the supermarkets sale artificial ones but they are not the same
Find a meat shop or a grocery store butcher might get some for you!
