Football party - dessert idea?!

Question: My man is hosting a football party on Saturday. We will have about 20 guys total coming in & out. (I will be hiding upstairs most of the time)
We are going to make a big pot of Chilli, and we are getting a 3-foot Sub. I'm also going to make a big layer Bean Dip.

Now I'm thinking about a dessert dish to have out. Something casserole-ly like, that I can leave out on the counter. Something not cookies, brownies, or cake......kinda different but simple....for a bunch of beer-guzzlin' guys.

guys aren't in to frou frou... esp at a football game!
heck, just set out a huge bowl of peanut M's & M's!

otherwise - maybe make a banana pudding by the box but line the bottom with sliced in 1/2 twinkies for sumpin different.

have fun!

Yeah!
Go with banana splits or oreo cookie cake. Both big hits. Easy recipies and fun to make also

Cinnamon muffins!

chocolate covered pretzels

Some kind of jello and fruit salad.

mmm you can't go wrong with apple turnovers shaped like little footballs. mmmmm

Beer really doesn't go with dessert, but Apple Crisp is my favorite!!!!!!!!

The men in my family LOVE lemon lush and you can make trays of it :)

* 2 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 cup butter, softened
* 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
* 1 cup white sugar
* 2 (3.4 ounce) packages instant lemon pudding mix
* 3 1/2 cups milk
* 1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

# Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). In a medium bowl, combine the flour and butter using a pastry cutter until a ball forms. Press into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
# Bake for 25 minutes in the preheated oven, or until lightly golden. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.
# In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar together until smooth and well blended. Spread evenly over the cooled crust. In another bowl, whisk together the lemon pudding mix and milk for 3 to 5 minutes. Spread over the cream cheese layer. Chill until set, then top with whipped topping

How about beer?

Ok, just kidding. You can make some banana pudding in long casserole pan. Then sprinkle some green sugar on top to make it look like grass (green colored coconut flakes if you feel particularly arsty that day). Then add some white lines with powdered sugar to make all the yard lines and end zones.

I think brownies go really well with the football food you're going to make but since you don't want that how about lemon squares?

Chocolate Triffle

In a clear triffle dish, layer 1 package instant chocolate pudding mix (prepared), 1/3 pan of crumbled brownies, 1 broken up Skore bar and 1/3 tub cool whip. repeat Layers. Top with final layer of cool whip and a few brownie crumbles and skore pieces to decorate. IT IS THE BOMB.

For our tailgate parties we usually either buy or make cupcakes that are decorated with icing in team colors. It's also something they can eat with their hands.

My buddies and I like cheesecake after chili - the pairing is nice - the spiciness of the chili and the creaminess of the cheesecake and best of all it can be set on the counter and nibbled on all day. Make it in a 13x9x2 inch pan instead of a springform and let them serve themselves - make 2 a day in advance and keep them refrigerated until game/meal time.

Cheesecake
12 slices Prep: 30 minutes
Chill: 4 hours
Bake: 35 minutes
Cool: 2 hours
Stand: 2 hours

Ingredients:
1-1/2 cups finely crushed graham crackers
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter, melted
3 8-ounce packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup milk
3 eggs, lightly beaten

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 375F. For crust, in a medium bowl stir together crushed graham crackers and the 1/3 cup sugar. Stir in melted butter. Press the crumb mixture onto bottom and about 2 inches up the sides of an 8- or 9-inch springform pan; Place the crust-lined springform pan on a double layer of 18x12-inch heavy-duty aluminum foil. Bring edges of foil up and mold around sides of pan to form a watertight seal.

2. For filling, in a large mixing bowl beat cream cheese, the 1 cup sugar, the flour, and vanilla with an electric mixer on medium speed until combined. Beat in milk until smooth. Stir in eggs. Pour into crust-lined pan. Place in a roasting pan and pour enough hot water around pan to reach halfway up the sides. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes for the 8-inch pan (35 to 40 minutes for the 9-inch pan) or until edges of cake are set but center jiggles a bit when pan is gently shaken. Turn oven off and let cheesecake sit in oven for 1 hour.

3. Cool in pan on a wire rack for 15 minutes. Using a small sharp knife, loosen the crust from sides of pan; cool for 30 minutes. Remove the sides of the pan; cool cheesecake completely on rack. Cover and chill at least 4 hours before serving.

4. Mint and Chip Cheesecake: Prepare as directed above, except substitute chocolate-flavor graham crackers for the regular graham crackers in the crust. For the filling, add 1/4 teaspoon mint flavoring with the vanilla and substitute 1/4 cup green creme de menthe liqueur for the milk. After stirring in the eggs, stir in 1 cup miniature semisweet chocolate pieces. Bake and cool as directed. Cover and chill for at least 4 hours before serving. If desired, just before serving, drizzle slices with purchased fudge sauce.

5. Honey-Nut Cheesecake: Before serving, top chilled cheesecake with 1/2 cup toasted sliced almonds and if desired, 1/2 cup fresh raspberries. Drizzle with 1/4 cup honey. Slice and serve cheesecake as directed.

6. Turtle Cheesecake: Before serving, drizzle individual slices with 1/2 to 1 tablespoon each of purchased caramel ice cream topping and chocolate-flavored syrup. Sprinkle each slice with about 1 tablespoon chopped dry-roasted peanuts.

7. Chocolate Bar Cheesecake: Before serving, top chilled cheesecake with 1 cup of one or more flavors of chopped chocolate candy bars, such as chocolate-covered peanut butter cups, chocolate-covered English toffee, chocolate-covered nougat bars, milk chocolate, and/or dark chocolate. If desired, drizzle each slice with purchased butterscotch, caramel, mocha chocolate, or chocolate fudge sauce.

8. Fruit-topped Cheesecake: In a 1--quart saucepan heat 1/3 cup of Orange marmalade or desired flavor fruit preserves just until spoonable. Top cheesecake with 1 to 2 cups fresh fruit such as raspberries, blueberries, halved sweet cherries, or sliced strawberries or peaches; drizzle with heated preserves.

Key lime Pie would be good =)

INGREDIENTS
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup key lime juice
1 teaspoon grated lime zest
2 egg yolks
1 egg
1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust
2 egg whites
4 tablespoons white sugar

DIRECTIONS
In a medium bowl, blend together condensed milk, lime juice and zest. Mix in egg yolks and whole egg. Pour mixture into crust, then cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
To Make Meringue: In a large glass or metal mixing bowl, beat egg whites until foamy. Gradually add sugar, continuing to beat until whites form stiff peaks. Spread meringue over pie, covering completely.
Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Chill before serving.

Tortilla Dessert Wraps

Easy and fast to make. The boys can scoop up ice cream from the freezer when served.

-P.S. Don't hide yourself upstairs. Go out and shop!
Have fun... ; )
