Question on George Foreman grills...?!

Question: Do real chefs use george foreman grills?

I want to be a chef when I grow up, and if george foreman grills are for people who want cooking the easy way, then I'm not so sure I want one... But if it's not one of those "Hey we're gonna do all the cooking for ya" machines that are all over the place today, I might reconsider. I wanna learn how to cook without all that extra help. So can somebody please tell me if george foreman grills still let you cook food by yourself?

If you want to "really" cook then don't get one of these.

Granted it drains the grease away which ALSO drains the flavor/moisture away! lol!

If you ever apply to be a Chef and you say that you use the George Fomran grill they will laugh their azz off at you! lol!

This product really is more for people who do not like cooking/don't know/don't care about flavor or maybe for college kids in a dorm room or some such. It's NOT real cooking!

I will say what I always say. Buy better quality "basics" (knives, pots and pans etc.) and skip the gimicks if you want to cook like a REAL Chef.

For a real Chef using a George Forman Grill would be like cooking with Boones Farm wine. lol

You still have to season and spice up the food,

I am a master pork chop chef,

And I started using a grill to cook in the summer,

Because I can cook it in fifteen minutes, and I don't have to heat up the house with my oven!

I have no idea... but Michael from the Office definitely burned his foot on one.

it is hot on two sides and drains grease away

Well, I do a lot of cooking and I love my Foreman grill - it's quick and seals in juices in steak, chops, and chicken breasts, great for making paninni's and cooking burgers too

It's just an electric grill, it doesn't do anything fancy. It cooks meat on both sides and lets the fat drain out. The weight of the top part squeezes more fat out.

It is a contact grill on both sides, so no need to turn the food over...this kind of grill is very popular and fast...but you still need to put the food together, season it, etc....

i have recently gotten into cooking and hardly ever use mine anymore because the meat cooked on it has a very bland flavor, i guess thats just in the way it cooks and squeezes out the juice. if you use a skillet you get better results you just have to watch it and flip it over. good luck:)

Its just an inside grill, for winter/rainy days. You still have to make it flip it and serve it.

my george foreman is the only grill we have so we use it all the time! we usually marinate chicken or pork chops and when we grill we just dont close the grill we just let the food cook on one side and then flip it, its so easy!
