Is it OK to make turkey stuffing and freeze it before hand?!

Question: I use onions, celery, turkey stock and giblets with spices in one and oysters in the other. If I could freeze it, should I cook it first or cook it when it thaws out? Any help would be appricated.

I freeze my bread/potato dressing. I freeze it unbaked, thaw it the day before in the fridge , then bake as usual.
I'v e never made one with oysters, but this site has a recipe and freezing instructions.
http://find.myrecipes.com/recipes/recipe...
"To make ahead, prepare recipe as directed through Step 2. Cover with plastic wrap; cover with heavy-duty aluminum foil or container lid. Freeze unbaked dressing up to 3 months, if desired. Thaw in refrigerator 24 hours. Let stand at room temperature 30 minutes. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 1 hour and 10 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes or until golden."

I never froze stuffing before. It seems like it will get to sogy..like frozen bagels when they defrost.

i would cook it first, then freeze it, then defrost to use. it is safer that way.

its ok it actually taste better

The first one, definitely. I am making mine right now to freeze as well, cooking it all like it is Thanksgiving day, then will freeze and put in the oven on low low low the night before to gently warm. The one with the oysters, I would think not. I would make that one fresh.

ask google
it depends to you want to eat it frozen that will taste bad

Yes freeze the stock
Although I prefer to actually to 'can' the stock
because freezing separates the liquid.
the bread mix with your vegetables are fine ..

If I'm going to make it ahead of time and then freeze it I would only go so far as putting everyting together ready to be cooked. Take it out of the freezer the night before to thaw and then cook it as you would on Thansgiving Day!
