Answers: I plan on at least an 18lb turkey stuffed

Good for you I advise 160F-175Foven temp. You should apply to food network for "Iron Chef" You're a sure bet to be picked.

Would not recommend cooking iver night in the oven, safety reasons.

The bird cooks at about 325 F for 4 hrs weighing 20 lbs.

Yours should be about 30 mins. less give or take.

Check the label on the wrapping to check the cookng schedule.

Don't cook your turkey overnight. NO turkey takes 8 hours to cook. Also, do NOT cook it stuffed.

why would you do that? it would be dry as hell by the time you were ready to eat it unless you plan on turkey breakfast? just start it at 5 am should be done by 3 or 4 if you put it in one of those turkey bags then it stays extra juicy

You do realize that you are asking for a case of food poison if you do cook a 'stuffed' bird,,,don't you??
Regardless of the temp you cook your 'stuffed' bird to, it is NOT advisable to put your stuffing on the inside, but to cook the stuffing in a separate pan altogether, to prevent poisoning. The juices from the bird are soaking into the stuffing and to get the stuffing to a high enough temp to kill the bacteria you would have to burn your bird to a crisp.

Please reconsider 'stuffing' your bird and plan on doing your stuffing separate, if not for your sake, then for the sake of your guests.

I cook my turkey overnight in the oven every year. I put it in when I go to bed (or around 10), set the oven at about 175 and cover it tightly. It will cook all night at a slow temperature and when you get up in the morning, it will be nearly perfect! I also carve the turkey and put it back in the pan without the bones and sitting in the cooked broth. I cover that tightly and re-heat just before dinner. The turkey stays moist and tastes really good. Good luck!

Also, don't stuff the bird! Not only is it dangerous, but it doesn't make anything taste any better. Just cook the stuffing the next day with the rest of your meal!

I personally think a bird should not be stuffed.
This is how we do it every time turkey is on our Menu at the Hospital where I work.
take turkey from freezer. Do not thaw. remove plastic wrap. Place breast side down in baking pan. add 1 inch of water to pan. cover with aluminum foil tightly. put bird in oven. turn oven to 325 degrees. and bake it for 12 hours. the breast is put down so it will stay moist and not dry out. No, this will not be a beautiful picture perfect bird. if you want that you must cook it the usual way with the basting and the checking. stuffing should always be cooked on the side. for the person who is cooking theirs at 175 degrees I guess we will see you in the ER. can you say diarrhea? 175 degrees is not hot enough to kill of those nasty little bugs that hang out in raw poultry. If it hasn't happened to you yet you are damn lucky.
