How do you freeze raw mushrooms?!

Question: I think I remember my mom slicing them and placing them on cookie sheets to put in the freezer, but can't really say for sure.

Mushrooms do not freeze well in the raw state, but if you cook them in butter, then put in freezer bag or plastic container, they can be used later in spaghetti sauce, and other such recipes. I do this when I get a good price on them, but when trying to freeze them raw, the chemicals in the fungus do strange things to the mushrooms. Better to cook them and freeze them. Happy eating.

why? when you only buy what you need.HELLO.

ummm....again....why? mushrooms are available....cheap and if u are looking for shelf stable ones...buy em dried.

You dont. you take those little fungi and you smash them up and throw them away. hahahaha sorry i dont like them. but seriously i think chopping and in a freezer bag would work. i do that with onions and green peppers for a fast use when i need them
