Has anyone got the recipe for tomato pudding?!


Question: Tomato Pudding

2 (12 ounce) cans tomato puree
1/2 pound butter (2 sticks)
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup water
12 slices toast, cubed

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

In a saucepan, bring the purée, butter, brown sugar and water to a boil, stirring constantly.

Place toast cubes in a greased casserole dish. Cover the dish with boiled tomato mixture. Bake "covered" about 45 minutes, and serve hot.

i know a dish with tomato
use a oven proof large dish

layer the tomato at Base then layer real breadcrumbs
then layer tomato and breadcrumbs alternatively till the dish is full
in a separate jug mix eggs and milk together as if you were going to make scrambled eggs pour this over the tomato pudding and put the dish in the oven and bake
you can sprinkle cheese on top or even layer grated cheese into the dish

TOMATO PUDDING

1 c. brown sugar
2/3 c. water
1/4 lb. butter
2 c. canned tomatoes
1 sm. can tomato paste
1/3 (tomato paste) can water
1/8 tsp. salt
6 slices bread, cubed

Combine brown sugar and water. Heat to boiling, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
Drop butter in. Add tomatoes and tomato paste, water, and salt. Stir until blended.

Place bread cubes in a casserole and pour mixture over. Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees.
