sometimes make me think really how to answer.
you are not the outer shell which taste awfull, surely you are the piece of cheese which every man will love to eat.

The "outer layer" as you call it is the "rind".

The greenish-blue penicillium mould imparts a sharp spicy flavour and provides an excellent contrast to the rich, creamy cheese.

You either like it or you don't........I do.......delicious.
