Here's a simple Southern Cobbler recipe for you.
1 cup flour--- a.p. or s.r. it doesn't matter
1 cup milk
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups apples in juice
1 stick butter
dash of cinnamon
To prepare apples: Peel and slice apples. Put into a sauce pan the apple peels and cores. Cover with water and bring to a boil. Boil until reduced by 1/4 of the amount of juice. Strain. Pour hot juice over apple slices and set aside.
To make cobbler. Melt the butter in pan (preferably the one you will bake the cobbler in) and pour into the bottom of the pan you will be making the cobbler in. Sprinkle a little cinnamon into the butter. In seperate bowl, mix together the flour, milk and sugar until lump free. Pour into pan with butter but DO NOT STIR. Now just pour apples with juice over the batter mixture, and once again DO NOT STIR. Place uncovered in a 350* oven for 30 to 45 minutes until the top is golden brown.
PLEASE NOTE....DO NOT STIR ANYTHING AFTER PUTTING IT IN THE PAN TO BAKE. The crust will form around the apples and come to the top.
Hope this helps you. Good Luck.
