What are the reasons for using PEANUT OIL for frying instead of any other oil? Is it better in some ways?!

Question: PEANUT OIL gets hotter and cooks crisper as a result.
Its smoke point is realtively high and it imparts a unique taste to foods.
BTW all oils have the same caloric value.

I don't know about peanut oil in particular, but some oils, such as olive oil, do not hold up to high temperatures during frying. You could probably substitute vegetable oil or forgo the frying all together by baking in the oven instead- which is what I prefer.

i think its becauseit healthier?

It can withstand higher temperatures than other oils. Here's some info on oils:

Peanut oil has one of the highest smoking points (over 450 deg) therefore it's suited well for deep frying. The oil also has a longer shelf life because it contains a smaller amount polyunsaturated fatty acids that are prone to oxidation.

It will go to a higher temperature without burning or igniting.

i agree with the rest.....yet i prefer olive oil above all. peanuts in general have a lot of calories.

hey have u heard about S factor? u interested in pole dancing classes? once u get to a certain level, they make u dance in 6 inch platform heels! wooooo!

Peanut oil has a high smoke point, so it is good for deep frying food. There are other oils with high smoke point also, corn oil, canola oil to name a few-all having neutral flavors and cheaper to buy. The reason people are willing to pay more and use peanut is the subtle flavor it gives fried savory food-that "this is really good- but I don't know why" factor.

peanut oil can hold really high tempurtures -especially if deep frying like canola oil.. olive oil doesnt at all but its good for cooking food just not deep frying.u can add a tablespoon of butter to the oil so it wont burn as much and also gives extra flavor to your dish.. hope this helps...
