What is a good homemade eyewash recipe?!

Question: iam looking for a nice soothing eyewash

Answers: iam looking for a nice soothing eyewash

A very simple recipe for homemade eyewash is to boil one cup of water with one teaspoon of salt. Let it cool before using. Don't use tapwater because of the impurities..use bottled water..

That's what my parents used for us, only we didn't have bottled water back in the dark ages..

My dad said for us to pull our eyelid shut (and hold it for a bit) if we had something small in there because it would make 'natural' tears and wash the eye. We just put the water in an eyecup and tilted our heads back and blinked into the water repeatedly to wash the eye. Report It

Here in Spain we use the following eyewash, especially for children and delicate eyes:
Boil 1 large cup of water... Add a teabag of chamomile tea and allow to infuse until it has cooled enough to place comfortably on your eyelid.
Soak cotton de'makup pads in the liquid and use them on your eyes... Or use an old fashioned "eyecup" if you have one.
You can also use two chamomile teabags, and put the teabags directly on the eyelids once they've come to a comfortable temperature.
The best way to disinfect eyes is to use one drop of lemon juice in each eye (but it burns like the dickens). You can avoid the burning sensation by "watering" the drop down with boiled water (allow water to boil at least five minutes to purify it, fill a small eyedropper with this water once it's cooled, add the 2 drops of lemon juice then use in eyes).
If you want to disinfect the eyes, use the lemon solution before the chamomile one...
