What can I substitute for nuts in an asparagus veggie dish to add crunch/interest?!

Question: In the salad section of your grocery store, look for salad toppers. They make some decent ones.
Also you can try:
Cooked bacon
raw minced asparagus
sunflower seeds
minced raw onions

Hope these help you.

coarsely crushed salad croutons

Diced water chestnuts are crunchy and mild.

Toasted granary bread crumbs.

Sunflower or pumpkin seeds. Both are delicious.

Iknowtha!
If you like Asparagus like I do. Then please try this one for crunch instead of nuts. I use Bacon Bits. You can buy them by the jar very cheap, And they don't have all the fat that nuts have. ( p.s. That's not to say I don't love nuts. Especially Cashews!!!!!) Bob.

How about carving out some heart shaped water-chessnuts and soaking them in some beet juice...:)

charles d Got my water chestnuts
so I'll continue with bamboo shoots and baby corn
from the Asisn food section...
