Need a recipe for a specific breakfast casserole?!
Answers: Went to a training class that was catered. They brought in a breakfast casserole that everyone really liked. I know the ingredients, just don't know the baking times. It had a bisquit bottom, then a mixture of scrabled eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, and cheese with more cheese on top and baked. I wanted to know if I need to cook the bisquit bottom before adding other ingredients. I know I should cook the eggs and sausage first. What about the hashbrowns? I've looked online and can only find breakfast casserole recipes that have a bread or crouton bottom -- not looking for that. I need the one with the bisquit bottom. Thanks!!!
Biscuit Topped Breakfast Casserole
1 package STOUFFER'S? Family Style Favorites Scalloped Potatoes*
1 pound bulk breakfast sausage, fully cooked, drained and crumbled
5 large eggs, slightly beaten
2 cups (8-ounces) shredded cheddar cheese
3/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 (12-ounce) package refrigerated biscuit dough
Combine potatoes, fully cooked sausage, eggs, 1 1/4 cups Cheddar cheese, onion powder and black pepper in 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
Bake in preheated 400°F (205°C) oven for 25 minutes. While potato mixture is baking, slice each round of biscuit dough in half to make half moons. Carefully Remove potato mixture from oven; top with biscuit dough and sprinkle with remaining cheese.
Bake an additional 15 to 17 minutes or until biscuits are fully cooked and knife inserted in potato mixture comes out clean.
Sausage Crescent Breakfast Casserole
1 lb sausage
2/3 eggs
2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
2 (8 ounce) cans refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
2 to 3 cups frozen hash browns
Crumble sausage into a skillet and brown, then drain grease off.
Mix sausage, eggs, hashbrowns and cheese together in a medium sized bowl.
Unfold one package of rolls and place in bottom of 9" x 13" baking dish.
Spread sausage, egg, hashbrown, and cheese mixture over crescent crust.
Top with second package of crescent rolls, tucking down sides and ends.
Bake in preheated 350 degree (Fahrenheit) oven 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
This recipe can be prepared for the oven the night before and baked in the morning.
I have never cooked the eggs/hashbrowns or the cheese, only the meat, then drain thouroughly.....you also don't bake the biscuits first, for the recipe above just replace the crescent rolls with biscuits....
try bisquick web site i have done one like the one your talking about and no you dont have to bake the crust part first but you do need to cook the meats first and grease the bottom of your pan before putting in the bisquick mix but im sure that recipie is on there website, hopefully this helps
