I would bring water to the boil, add the eggs, bring it back to the boil and cook it 5 minutes. That should do it. Or, you could bring the water to the boil, add the eggs, bring back to the boil, cover, and turn off the heat and let the eggs sit in the water until room temperature. If the egg isn't fully cooked, you can only tell once you crack it open.

Usually takes 8 minutes from when the water starts to boil.

'Ole Waffle house standard...LOL

God Bless

in a restaurant you boil 8-10 min depends on the restaurant

Here's what you do:
Place your eggs gently in empty saucepan,
Fill with cold water until eggs are something more than fully submerged,
Place on high heat on stove, (uncovered)
As pan heats, rolls eggs gently about in the water with a wooden spoon or something non-destructive (in order to avoid shells cracking from hot spots),
Bring to boil,
After boil has begun, reduce heat slightly so it doesn't go crazy, set timer for 8 minutes,
Boil eggs for 8 minutes,
After 8 minutes of boil, remove from heat,
Gently and carefully pour off hot water,
Run cold tap water into hot pan (over boiled eggs) for a few minutes to stop cooking process,
Once pan is no longer scalding to the touch, drop in a healthy handful of ice cubes,
Ice eggs for at least a few minutes (this will help the shells peel without destroying the eggs),
Enjoy (this is an important step)

NEVER BOIL THE WATER FIRST YOUR EGGS WILL CRACK

add egg to cold water
then heat water to a boil
cook for 8 mins
let water and egg cool down
then rinse egg with cold water (this will make removing shell so much easier)
egg will be completely cooked

i cover it with water then heat it.it takes 5 to7 min.remember thatboiling tempreture is depended to the height of area ure living.upper u go, the temp decrease

add eggs to pot and cover with water
turn on a hi heat
set timer for 10 min
at ten min turn off the eggs leave on stove burner set timer 10 min. then
run cold water over them
perfect

this is how i do it and it nevers fails. cold water and eggs in pan. bring to a boil then turn off the heat . cover and let eggs sit for twenty minutes . i dont use ice i just peel them and let them cool . also you will never have a problem peeling eggs if they are fresh. if they arent thats when the shells stick.

if you are making hard boiled eggs---
take the eggs and place in a pot and add cold water to it then add just a splash of vinegar (white preferably)
place the pot on the burner on high till the water boils, wait for it to come ot a rapid boil
turn heat off and add lid
set timer for 25 minutes
drain the water off and add cold water and ice run the water constantly for about 5 minutes or so til lthe eggs are completely cool
peel and enjoy

Put the eggs in cold water in the pot, uncovered. As soon as it starts to boil turn off the burner leave pot on burner and cover with a lid for 20 minutes. They ALWAYS turn out.

Get salt and water going to a rapid boil. Carefully place the eggs in the water and let it cook for EXACTLY 10 min. No longer or shorter!

The very second the 10 min is up place the eggs in a bowl of ice and cold water. This will stop the cooking process and give you perfect boiled eggs every time.

All of these answers are very good! If the yolk is green when your peel your eggs, it means it is overcooked.
